New for 2004. Barmagachan Trout Fishery is a very attractive spring-fed 5-acre loch set amidst rolling and peaceful Galloway countryside a mile from Borgue Village and near Kirkcudbright and Gatehouse of Fleet.

Weather permitting there is good vehicle access to the lochside, gently sloping banks and easy casting makes it an ideal location for fishers of all ages and abilities.

The loch is regularly stocked with top quality, hard fighting Rainbow Trout. To add variety to the sport on offer Brown Trout, Brook Trout, Tiger Trout and Golden Trout have also been introduced.

Fishing is by fly only. Catch and return fishing is encouraged at Barmagachan and only barbless and debarbed hooks are permitted. A range of day tickets is available; beginning from as little as £6.00. Others allow for up to 4 Rainbow Trout to be taken. All Brown Trout, Brook Trout, Tiger Trout and Golden Trout must be returned to the loch immediately.

No boobies or flies larger than size 10 are permitted. Returned fish must be released quickly, carefully and not taken out of the water if possible. Fish should only be handled with wet hands.
